Two-dimensional MXenes are generally prepared by the etching of acid solutions. The as-synthesized terminated group anions (F–, Cl–, et al.), which affect electrochemical performance MXenes. Here, we report a novel method to prepare Mo2C MXene from Mo2Ga2C hydrothermal alkali Highly pure was successfully synthesized NaOH, while etchings LiOH and KOH were failed. concentration temperature time strongly purity as-prepared MXene. Pure could be 20 M NaOH at 180 °C for 24 h. After intercalation hexadecyl trimethyl ammonium bromide 90 96 h, few-layer obtained. made after exhibited excellent as anode lithium-ion battery, compared with general HF reported in literature. final discharge specific capacity 266.73 mAh·g-1 0.8 A·g-1, is 52% higher than that (175.77 mAh·g-1). This because has lager surface area, lower resistance, O/OH termination without anion termination. first make samples this significantly better etching.
